Formerly made as the Tuthilltown Distillery, the small, corpulent rye and bourbon bottles of Hudson Whiskey have become a staple behind the bars of the Hudson Valley and the city. The Gardiner Distillery xSeries is a line of New York State rye whiskeys aged in new American oak and then finished in cider casks. The finishing process gives the rye a hint of apple, with cinnamon and caramel inflections for a rich, full-bodied fall flavor in a bottle.

The newly opened establishment has yet to begin distilling on-site, but anticipating their grand opening, entrepreneurs Charles Ferri and Paul Seres created their first rye and bourbon mash bills six years ago with Brian McKenzie, founder of Finger Lakes Distilling. The whiskeys, produced under the name Black Creek, are in small batches, hand-blended and limited edition with numbered bottles.
