Amazon (AMZN) Steps Up Holiday Selling Efforts With Advance Offers

In order to gain ground during this holiday season, Amazon AMZN first announced several great deals for Black Friday.

Plus, customers can start holiday shopping from now, with huge discounts on multiple items across various product categories like Amazon Appliances, Fashion, Toys, Home, Decor, Entertainment, beauty and electronics.

Along with this, Amazon has rolled out holiday gift guides, featuring popular and favorite items from customers across a wide range of product categories. It also includes a holiday toy list and electronic gift guides.

The company introduced a Holiday Gift List, which allows customers to create and share gift ideas for everyone in the house by adding any product from its online retail platform to the list.

Apart from that, the company strives to support small businesses by making their products available with great deals for Black Friday shopping.

We believe that all of this should help Amazon attract buyers to its platform well before the holiday season by offering great savings opportunities. This, in turn, will likely contribute well to the overall sales of the business during the holiday season.

Intensification of the holiday competition

With the latest move, Amazon has raised the bar against retailers like Walmart WMT, Target TGT and Kroger KR, which also strives to deliver strong performance during the holidays.

Walmart is preparing to hire approximately 150,000 workers for its stores across the United States. In particular, most hires will be full-time and permanent positions. This remains remarkable on Walmart’s side, as an expanded worker base will help them manage the holiday shopping rush.

Meanwhile, Target is offering a two-day shopping event called Deal Days, which runs October 10-12. During the event, the company will be offering deep discounts on a wide range of product categories.

In addition, Target is expected to increase the working hours of workers. He plans to offer five million additional hours of work to his existing store workers, which, in turn, will increase their wages by more than $ 75 million.

Amazon’s aggressive strategies

Despite the factors mentioned above, Amazon remains well positioned to lead the holiday battle thanks to its aggressive strategies including increasing order fulfillment capacity and hiring frenzy.

The company’s considerable efforts to expand its fulfillment network as well as its delivery capacity remain remarkable. It opened 250 distribution centers, sorting centers, regional air hubs and delivery stations across the United States from afar this year.

Apart from that, the e-commerce giant plans to hire an additional 125,000 employees across the United States. In addition, it created 40,000 business and tech job opportunities in the country in the previous month.

All of these efforts should contribute to the company’s vacation performance this year.
