IHG Hotels and Resorts has opened its largest Holiday Inn Express property in Europe, located in the German city of Düsseldorf.
The property has taken the place of the Holiday Inn Amsterdam North Riverside, which opened in July 2020 with 438 rooms.
The Holiday Inn Express Dusseldorf – Hauptbahnhof offers 455 rooms and the brand’s Next Generation design, which means rooms include blackout blinds, a pillow menu, free Wi-Fi and an ‘Express’ breakfast. Start ”free.
The property also features flexible workspaces with modern technology, two fully equipped meeting rooms that can accommodate up to 18 people, and a self-service business center.
The hotel is located just one kilometer from the city’s central train station and close to the old town, the Konigsallee shopping district and the Kunstpalast museum. It is also a short distance from Düsseldorf International Airport.

The property was opened in partnership with Primestar and follows recent European openings in Edinburgh (UK), Fulda (Germany), Nice (France) and Lustenau (Austria).
Holiday Inn Express was launched in 1991 and currently has 283 hotels open across Europe with 60 more in the pipeline. Overall, the brand has 3,022 hotels open and 655 under development.
