IHG Hotels and Resorts has partnered for the first time with La Vie Hotels and Resorts to open the Holiday Inn and Suites in Bondi Junction, Sydney.
The Spring Street Hotel, which previously operated as Quest Bondi Junction, is already open and taking bookings, but will undergo a full refurbishment to ensure that all guest areas, including bedrooms and lobby, reflect the design and experience of the Holiday Inn.
“A world-class destination like Bondi needs a world-class hotel brand, and there is no better-known brand in the world than the Holiday Inn family,” said Jael Fischer, Chief Development Officer of IHG Hotels and Resorts for Australasia.
The Holiday Inn & Suites Sydney Bondi Junction is IHG’s fourth hotel in Sydney’s eastern suburbs, following Crowne Plaza Sydney Coogee Beach, InterContinental Sydney Double Bay and Holiday Inn Potts Point.
“We are delighted to expand our reach in Sydney and complement our stable of hotels in the Eastern Suburbs,” said Fischer.
The 82-room hotel will include an all-day dining restaurant, free access to the gym, and rooms will be equipped with kitchenettes, allowing travelers to self-catering if they wish.
Located in the heart of Bondi Junction, guests can access nearby Westfield Bondi Junction shopping and public transport to Bondi Beach and the CBD.
The opening comes at a time of growth for IHG and the Holiday Inn brand in Australasia. Now in its 70th year, Holiday Inn refreshes its image with new design cues, including its signature Open Lobby.
La Vie Hotels & Resorts is currently in a phase of significant expansion across Australia and Southeast Asia, according to Founder and CEO, Jerry Xu.
He said the Bondi Junction property was just the start of a long-term partnership with IHG Hotels and Resorts.
“We currently have 22 properties in our portfolio ranging from mid-range to upper-end, and adding IHG’s renowned Holiday Inn brand to our stable of hotels is very exciting,” said Xu.
“Holiday Inn and Suites Bondi Junction’s location will offer business and leisure travelers the ultimate convenience in the heart of the eastern suburbs, and as consumer confidence returns to the travel industry, we are delighted to providing guests with a modern and contemporary hotel to base themselves when visiting Sydney.”
