Park Inn by Radisson Bacolod welcomes the holiday season with its newly opened art gallery and tree lighting ceremony

The Park Inn by Radisson Bacolod, the new dynamic upscale hotel in the Cité du Sourire, made its opening official with a festive welcome for the end of the year celebrations.

The day’s event began with a press conference with local media, officially marking his presence in Bacolod City. “The opening of the Park Inn by Radisson Bacolod creates another milestone in the history of SMHCC, as it provides Bacolodnons with the first internationally branded hotel in the City of Smiles. As such, SMHCC is stepping up its efforts to further strengthen its brand portfolio and take hospitality to the next level,” said Ms. Peggy E. Angeles, Executive Vice President of SM Hotels and Conventions Corp.

The press conference ended with a sumptuous series of meriendas featuring local specialties from Ilonggo.

Media guests were then led to Art Cove, Park Inn by Radisson Bacolod’s mini art gallery to open its first-ever exhibit. The exhibition is a consecutive feature of the works of Ms. Christina Bautista with the title “Images of Negros” and “Tale of Marapara” by Ms. Joan Horidez.

“Cove is a reflection of the combined love for the arts shared by the people of this region and the SM Group. Through Art Cove, we want to help the province cultivate and nurture more talent by serving as a vehicle to introduce Negrosnanon art to travelers and amplify arts tourism in the province,” said Sherwin Lucas, General Manager of Park Inn by Radisson Bacolod, its speech.

After the inaugural exhibition program, guests were taken to the Marapara Plaza (Pool Deck) located on the 2nd level of the hotel to unveil the marker for the largest mural in Negros followed by the Christmas launch program. A string ensemble greeted guests with classical tunes as they settled in for the evening festivities. Mayor Bing Leonardia and City Administrator Atty. Edward Cuansing graced the occasion.

The Christmas launch featured musical performances by the De La Salle Bacolod Choir and guest singer/entertainer and commercial model Vien King.

To maintain the Christmas spirit and strengthen the hotel’s social responsibility program, Park Inn by Radisson Bacolod has partnered with Kalipay Negrense Bacolod.

A percentage of the hotel’s holiday hamper sales will be donated to the foundation to support the basic needs of Recovered Treasures, a home for underprivileged children.

The tree lighting ceremony was led by SM Hotels & Conventions Corp. EVP Mrs. Peggy Angeles, Park Inn by Radisson Bacolod GM Mr. Sherwin Lucas and Atty. Edward Cuansing, Administrator of the City of Bacolod.

The hotel has crafted unique, locally-inspired cocktails with desserts that speak of the holidays to celebrate the festive season with added excitement.
