A new management agreement with Baring Private Equity Asia (BPEA) will allow IHG Hotels and Resorts to introduce its Holiday Inn Express brand to the Japanese city of Osaka and across the country.
The Holiday Inn Express Osaka City Center Midosuji, slated to open in December, is a multi-year project, with the brand moving into an existing building on Midosuji Boulevard in Osaka’s CBD. The hotel is located close to many of the city’s main attractions, including Shinsaibashi shopping, Namba entertainment districts and Yodoyabashi financial district.
The property will offer guests a range of cost-effective facilities and services, including comfortable bedding, high-speed Wi-Fi, a pillow menu and a daily cooked buffet breakfast, which can be served to take away. A full renovation of the property has been planned and will begin approximately six months after opening.

The deal is also the first for the hotel owner to venture into the world of hospitality and hospitality. However, the firm is part of one of Asia’s largest private alternative investment firms, with 24 years of experience and over $37 billion in funds under management, including pan-Asian real estate assets.
As a brand, Holiday Inn Express celebrates its 30th anniversaryand anniversary in 2021 and has now grown to encompass a network of over 3,000 locations in 2,100 cities around the world.
